Publishers of Western Books

Authors, Publishers

Finding publishers can require a lot of searching as many of you may well know. Rope and Wire hopes to make this process a little easier.

The list includes publishers of Traditional, Contemporary and Romance westerns. Each listing title is linked. If you want to find out more, you can continue on to their website.

If the publisher requires an agent or is not currently accepting submissions, it hasn't been added to the list.

This is an ongoing project to establish a comprehensive list of publishers who are exclusive to the western genre as well as multiple genre publishers (including westerns).

To make this list worthwhile I'm asking for your help. I don't know all of the publishers out there, I don't think anyone does. If you are a publisher or an author who wishes to include a publishers name to this list, add it to the comment section at the bottom of this page and I'll add it to the list.

Titles are linked to the publishers submission guidelines page whenever possible.

Allen & Unwin know how difficult it can be for writers to get their work in front of publishers, which is why we’ve created our innovative and pioneering submissions system – The Friday Pitch.

The Friday Pitch allows for writers of all genres to have their work considered by one of our in-house Submission Editors.

We publish trade fiction and non-fiction, and we publish, quite simply, what we like. We've done literary and commercial fiction, books on finance, sports, parenting, humor, history, biography...No topic is out of bounds for us if we think it's done well and will make an important contribution to society. We have never published children's fiction or poetry, and although we aren't opposed to working with these genres, it is unlikely we will ever publish them.

Thank you for considering Barking Rain Press as a potential publisher for your work. Please review the following sections carefully, as they contain all the information you’ll need to submit your manuscript to us....

Blushing Books is not a new company. We are, in fact, the oldest web-based romance and romance erotica publisher. We have been in business since 1991, and sold erotica through mail-order from '91 through '98, at which point we moved to web-based publishing via a membership site model.

We opened our first e-book store in 2001. We currently represent around 350 professional romance authors who have met the RWA minimum guidelines.

An ongoing call for short, erotic romances across subgenres, between 10-25k. These should have tight pacing, a romance with a happily ever after, and be very erotic.
