Welcome To The Bullpen

Harry Loiter The founder of a town out west called Procrastination
By Ted Robbens

Some Pioneers heading west
Would fail in their quest
Because their belongings exceeded
The basics they needed

Their beasts of burden would decline
To pull these loads up inclines
And the trail became scattered
With so much that had mattered

Harry Loiter collected
What these Pioneers rejected
Offering it for sale
To the next who took the trail
And what failed to sell went to store
Except ladies clothes, which Harry wore

Now Harry’s oxen wanted to go
And join the roaming buffalo
They reckoned buffalo must be smart
Because you never saw them pulling a cart
So one night they softly crept
From Harry’s camp whilst he slept

He woke alone
With no way of getting home
And having been drunk for several days
His location was a bit of a haze

Not wanting to make a rash decision
Harry settled down to considered his position
And as the years passed, others came
To sit with Harry and do the same

One such fellow, who had an education
Said “Let’s call this place Procrastination”
And Harry, who had no reason to disagree
Smiled and said “That’s OK by me”
