Free Website Recommendation
Thanks for taking the time to read this page.
Some of you know the history of Rope
and Wire as well as I do. You've been following it for years and I
really do appreciate it. If you've submitted content over the years,
thank you for your support as well.
The theme of Rope and Wire is western,
but the site has always been about helping authors succeed at
promoting their books. I've been consistent with that for over ten
The site has been through many changes
over the years as I am constantly trying to improve it along with
looking for ways to get it to pay for itself. Google ads don't cover
the cost nor does the sale of the Rope and Wire ebooks. Because of
this, Rope and Wire has always been considered a hobby site. I'm OK
with that because as I stated earlier, this site is more about
helping authors achieve success than helping me achieve success.
There is a certain amount of cost associated with running this site and I've decided to turn toward other means to achieve this. Now that I'm retired I'm able to focus more of my attention on other interests.
I've dabbled in online marketing ever since Rope and Wire went live. With the help of authors and readers like you, we've managed to take this site to the top of the western short story rankings. We've jockeyed between the top three spots for years and have enjoyed the number one position for many of them.
I'm taking a risk here of sounding like I'm pitching you. I guarantee you I'm not.
Over the years I've often thought about how I could offer authors a part of this site. A page of their own where they could blog or post whatever they wanted. What I have in place is about as close as I can come.
Now that I've turned more of my
attention to affiliate marketing, I've come across something I'd like
to bring to your attention. ***Here's the NON-pitch*** For those of
you who are trying to get your books seen and sold or maybe you're just
wanting to start a blog, I've come across an affiliate marketing
program that offers a free Wordpress website and hosting. It's their way of getting people involved in hopes of getting them to sign up
for a premium account.
The good part about this is that you
don't have to upgrade. You can keep the free site forever. They even
offer you training on how to set it up. In all my years of online
experience, I've never seen a better deal.
I'm not asking or advising you to do
anything. I only want to bring this free website recommendation to your attention because when
all is said and done, bottom line is I care about Rope and Wire and all
of you who have made it what it is.
I've posted a site-wide link at the top
of the left sidebar that will take you to an article I've posted on
my marketing website. It explains how unbelievably easy it is to
start your own free website.
Incidentally, my marketing website uses
the same Wordpress technology as the free sites they offer to anyone.
Take a look. If it's not for you that's fine. If you know of someone
who might be interested, pass it along.
There's also an interactive box at the bottom of the post where you can have some fun and see how easy it is to start your own website.
