City Girls
Douglas Polk

heading off to college in a few days,
my son asked me about city girls,
were they wild?
were they spoiled?
told him I dated a city girl once,
brought her home from college to meet my folks,
during calving season,

thought her eyes would pop out of her head,
when she saw her first calf pulled,
she fell asleep at the dinner table,
even snored,
loud enough it was hard to ignore,
even drooled abit on her chin,

once I showed her how to get the gates,
she became quite the pro,
before the weekend done,

but wild or spoiled,
I do not know,
guess you could ask her,
being you are her son.
